We incorporate force free principles into your animals day-to-day, not only to provide them with fun enrichment activities and cuddles, but also routine, socialization, and structure that will allow them to enjoy those periods when you are away.

Drop-In Cat Sitting

Cat’s need routine, consent, and again, trust. It may take patience to get there, but we are dedicated to taking all the time it requires to build that bond and maintain their routine in the meantime.
Drop-in service includes feeding, litter care, medication distribution, enrichment & activity time crafted around your cat’s interests and needs.

Drop-In Dog Sitting

Dogs are companion animals. They need love while their people are away! Anxious and reactive dogs are what got us into the pet industry. There is something so rewarding about being accepted into their circle!
Drop-in services always include feeding time, a potty break, and distribution of medication. Depending on time, they may also include enrichment activities, a socialization activity, or parent approved field trips. All activities are personally catered to your pup’s preferences.

Overnight Services

While some animals do well without supervision in the late evening hours, others need a little extra care through the overnight period. Whether that be due to separation anxiety, medical requirements, age, etc., Familiar Pet Care offers an overnight care package to ensure their needs are met, whatever they are.
Pet care with a service provider in the home for seven hours overnight into the breakfast hour and including one hour of care through the day. Additional drop-in care may be added to the stay, depending on each pet’s specific needs.

Additional Information:

When house sitting, Familiar also has walks and drop-ins to run during the day, as well as personal life functions. The current overnight booking works as “home base” and all other obligations are made in a similar fashion to what a full-time schedule would look like at other jobs (on roughly an 8-hour schedule depending on the services booked).

Safety

We specialize in working with reactive & anxious animals, which is why Familiar uses force free principles to keep your babies as comfortable as possible while apart from their people. While we do require a ‘treat ladder” for all of my clients, Familiar is very experienced working with allergies and sensitivities. Your pet’s health is always our first priority!
Disclaimer: If you have any landscape/maid services, please inform Familiar so that we may prepare accordingly. Our approach is not to allow any of the animals in our care cross paths with unfamiliar animals, or humans, to prevent any surprises. Familiar will work split stays in the event the second caregiver is also bonded, insured, pet First-Aid, & CPR certified pet care professional. “Fear Free” certification not required, though we recommend looking into it!
